March 15,2010 - What better way to shake the winter blues and get away from feet of snow than with a trip to Daytona, Florida to kick off the long awaited 2010 AMA Pro Grand National Championship Flat Track season. With the hauler loaded, Cory Texter and Texter racing headed south pit-stopping along to the way in Savannah, Georgia and Volusia, Florida to run laps in the new All-Star National race series. From there it was on to Daytona, Florida for two days of racing. Wide Open Press sat down with Cory to get his take on the racing, the competition and what his thoughts are on the start of his 2010 race season. |

Scott Powersports’ Johnny Lewis to make West Coast
trip, supported by K&N Engineering, to compete in two
flat track races while awaiting the AMA Pro Flat Track
Grand National Championship to resume in May
AMA Pro Flat Track GNC racer currently sits tied for second in the national series points
COATESVILLE, Penn. (March 15, 2010) – After earning two career-best AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Singles Championship finishes at the DAYTONA Short Track earlier this month, Scott Powersports/DR.D/Pit Posse/Monster Energy’s Johnny Lewis is not sitting idle until the series returns in late May. Soon he will head west to compete in two flat track events to continue to improve his racing thanks in part to K&N Engineering. The first will be the San Jose Pro Indoor Short Track on March 26-27, followed by the inaugural Mickey Fay Northwest Extreme Flat Track and Freestyle Motocross event on April 17 in Kent, Washington. |

CHOWCHILA, CA.
Scott and I left home on my 17th birthday (February 18) in the box van that Brother's Powersports was kind enough to loan us for our trip. Our first stop on our way to Daytona was Fremont, Ca. - where we picked up our good friend and fellow racer, Chad Cose, who would be traveling to all of the races with us. From there, we traveled an hour south to Chowchila, California for a fun night of racing on a cushion short track. This would be the first time on a track with my new '09 450, so I was glad to be getting some seat time before heading east. Luckily, the bike worked great and I pulled off a first and a second and a little extra cash for the trip. |
