Only
four days left until Wisconsin's Premier Flat Track Motorcycle Racing
Event - The Dairyland Classic Presented by Revolution Performance -
invades the Sheboygan County Fair Park in Plymouth. I am confident that
Mother Nature got all of the rain out of her system in May, and that we
will have phenomenal weather this Friday.
Tickets
are selling well at our ticket outlets - Route43 H-D in Sheboygan,
Bob's H-D in Fond du Lac, Suburban Motors H-D in Thiensville, Hal's H-D
in
New Berlin, and House of H-D in Milwaukee. Remember that discounted
advanced tickets are available at those outlets, so get them before
June 2
and save a few bucks!
The pro division pre-entry list continues to grow, and we plan to have
the
top 12 riders in the current 2006 AMA Flat Track National Championship
Singles Series in attendance - Joe Kopp, American Suzuki's Jake
Johnson,
American Yamaha's JR Schnabel, American Honda's Bryan Smith, defending
Dairyland champ Shaun Russell, American Suzuki's Kevin Varnes, Sam
Halbert, Johnny "Showtime" Murphree, Herny Wiles, Kenny
Coolbeth, American
Yamaha's Rob Pearson, and Bryan Bigelow.
We'd like to issue our usual "congrats" to JR Schnabel for
winning the
National Championship TT event in Springfield, Illinois on May 27. It
was
JR's sixth consecutive win at the Springfield Arena (3 short track and
3
TT wins to his credit), and it launches him from seventh to third in
the
championship point standings, right behind Jope Kopp and Jake Johnson.
Speaking of Joe Kopp, he took a nasty spill at the Springfield Mile on
Sunday while battling for the lead on the last lap. I just talked to
him
on the phone, and he said he walked away from the wreck but his bike
did
not. He will definitely see us on Friday, and hopefully he will have
some
positive news concerning Terry Poovey, who is currently hospitalized
after
a multi-rider accident on the last lap of The Mile. My family has known
Terry for 30 years, and a few days ago we were hoping he would attend
our
event on Friday. Now we are praying that he will recover from his
injuries. Joe said a number of riders were at the hospital, so it is
comforting to know that Terry is surrounded by his extended family.
Remember that we are opening the pit area from 6:30pm-7:15pm to allow
the
spectators a chance to meet their favorite racers before the actual
racing
begins at 7:30pm. Most of the riders have lots of personal memoriabilia
so you can proudly wear their colors during the races. In addition, we
have received our 2006 edition Dairyland Classic t-shirts that we will
be
selling beneath the grandstands this year to allow you to proudly
display
your support of our event year-round!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call 262-339-7430 - that's
my
direct line. Reception isn't the greatest on the infield, but every 15
minutes or so I get a signal if I have any voicemails!
I hope to see all of you on Friday night! And if you see me running
around, please don't hesitate to stop me and introduce yourself. No
matter how busy I am, I always have time for a supporter!
And if you still need a place to camp out, don't forget that Road
America
has campsites still available. www.roadamerica.com or 1-800-365-RACE.
I can't miss this last pre-race opportunity to thank our many sponsors,
featuring Revolution Performance, Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson,
Amsoil,
Swendson Motorsports and Budweiser. Their support has really allowed us
to kick things up a notch this year, and Budweiser has done a
phenomonal
job of spreading the word this year, so I am very grateful to them. But
I
can't overlook our other sponsors: the Wisconsin Harley Dealers
Association, Pro Motorsports of Fond du Lac, Harley-Davidson
Motorcycles
of Appleton, Hal's Harley-Davidson, Voodoo Motorsports, Advanced
Landspeed
of Plymouth, West Bend Harley-Davidson, Janssen Motorsports, Mueller
Sales
& Service, Ozaukee Suzuki, Hobans Cycle, Quick Throttle Magazine,
Racine
Extreme, Bob's Harley-Davidson, www.Flattrack.com, Mid-Cities
Motorsports,
Bob Barr Kawasaki, and Motorsports Factory. I encourage each of you to
personally thank at least one of these fine institutions for supporting
the Dairyland Classic Presented by Revolution Performance!
See you on Friday!
