The
#1 Plate is returning to Plymouth! Chris Carr, the seven-time and
defending AMA U.S. Flat Track National Champion and factory KTM rider,
called me today to tell me he will see us on Friday! This will be
Chris'
first trip to the Dairyland Classic since winning the AMA Hot Shoe
Event
in 2000.

Chris has spent the better part of this week at the bedside of
our good
friend Terry Poovey, and Chris reports that Terry is doing well, all
things considered. The doctors are very pleased with his progress thus
far. Chris said he will personally make sure the Poovey family knows
that
we are collecting money to help pay Terry's medical bills (instead of
collecting money for the Jim Sumner Memorial Dash For Cash), and he is
confident they will be very pleased to hear that.
Rich King, the long-time Harley-Davidson factory racer and 2001
Dairyland
Classic champ, is also planning on competing on Friday, against his
son,
Aaron, who sports #80K and made his first National Championship event
at
Springfield, Illinois this past weekend.
On a sour note, Willie McCoy #59 phoned in his cancellation. He
suffered
a serious hand injury competing in Springfield last weekend, and needs
a
few weeks to let the stiches heal up before the next National event.
Hopefully we'll see Willie in 2007. We wish him a speedy recovery.
The film crew filming the documentary "Flat Track Unleashed"
will be
present with their cameras rolling on Friday night. Visit www.ftfc.com
for the latest on their efforts to produce a behind-the-scenes
portrayal
of flat track racing in the 21st century.
The rainy May weather is finally pushing away to the East, just in time
for June!
The Dairyland Classic presented by Revolution Performance Brought to
you
by Suburban Motors H-D, Amsoil, Swendson Motorsports and Budweiser,
celebrates its 22nd year at the Sheboygan County Fair Park in Plymouth,
Wisconsin on Friday, June 2. Gates open at 5:30pm, time trials at
5:45pm,
racing at 7:30pm. The pit area will be opened to the spectators from
6:30-7:15pm to give everyone a chance to meet up with their favorite
racer
prior to opening ceremonies.
